Average review score:

An entertaining collection of holiday-theme quotesAn American Christmas Patchwork by Kate Woods is an impressively entertaining collection of holiday-theme quotes, short stories and poems for the Christmas season. Each vignette is a joy to page through, and the simple black-and-white illustrations add a gentle, picturesque touch to the thoughts and memories preserved in the pages. An American Christmas Patchwork is a welcome and recommended addition to any personal or family Christmas bookshelf as being a highly readable and unusually thoughtful literary treasure for the Christmas season. The Christmas Cuddlebug: The Christmas Cuddlebug came to town,/And stole our hearts when no one was around./With her happy little prancing,/She made our hearts feel like dancing./With her twinkling eyes and happy smile,/We loved her instantly,/We loved her then and we love her now./She shares our lives and shares our home,/And with hearts filled with love,/We're never alone./She's our special little Christmas bonus,/It's as if she's always known us./The Christmas Cuddlebug came to town,/And we're so glad to have her around.

American Government: A Complete Coursebook
Published in Hardcover by Great Source Education Group Inc (2000)
Average review score:

One of the BestAmerican Government: A Complete Coursebook is a great resource book. I know, as a student, that you can find a lot of topics in this book that aren't even touched upon in any ordinary textbook. This is a wonderful resource, especially for Economic, Legal, and Political Systems (ELPS) students, and U.S. History students. From the definition of "bill", to 105+ Supreme Court cases, this book has found almost all of the information I have needed. Maybe, it will work for you or your student too.

Amos Camps Out: A Couch Adventure in the Woods
Published in School & Library Binding by Joy st Books (September, 1992)
Average review score:

A Keeper for Kids and AdultsThis is the only book in the 'Amos' series I didn't previously own. After finding it in zShops, I snatched it up immediately. What a find! If you like the 3 other 'Amos' books, you have to have this one, too. It's one of the best. Amos goes camping in the woods with his family (of course they strap his couch to the top of the car) and has quite an adventure. I am a real dog lover, and enjoy ALL the 'Amos' stories. I wish Susan would write another! She writes with the ability to appeal to children - while amusing us adults.

Analytical reading inventory
Published in Unknown Binding by Merrill ()
Average review score:

Analytical Reading InventoryI have used every edition of the Analytical Reading Inventory, but this one is the best yet. Since I am a teacher educator, I find the accompanying audiotapes quite helpful--both to me and to my students. The content of the graded passages has always been real children's literature, and thus, more like real reading. There are both narrative and expository passages with different forms for pre-and post-assessments, or for comparing silent reading comprehension to oral reading comprehension. The directions for use are very reader-friendly. And, for this latest edition, the reader passages come in a separate booklet for easy use in the testing situation. I think anyone using this inventory would be well satisfied.

Ancient Greece (See Through History Series)
Published in Hardcover by Viking Press (May, 1993)
Average review score:

Experience Ancient GreeceAncient Greece is an excellent, readable book for Grades 4-7. The "See Through" windows added an interesting dimension (pun intended) to the book. Lots of good pictures and text that give children a clear understanding of Ancient Greece with out being overwhelming with minute bits of data.

Albemarle County in Virginia
Published in Hardcover by Clearfield Co (December, 1997)
This books lets you hear, feel, and smell those old places. It introduces you to some of the old pioneers of The NC area. You can almost feel their hard cracked hands, as if the author had you shake hands.
With this book you can actually drive and see some of the old stores still standing. But more fun, was visiting the ones that are STILL in business.
If walls can tell stories, then they surely bend MS Woodys ear! A very enjoyable read!
